As part of our eco project, we joined hundreds of schools and nurseries in planting new trees and hedgerows by applying to the Woodland Trust last summer. This wonderful scheme encourages children to connect with nature, learn about trees, and understand their vital role in our environment. Through this, they develop a sense of sustainability, responsibility, patience, and well-being - all while having great fun in the woods planting trees! It also continues the legacy of the late Queen, who inspired the nation to plant a green canopy - an initiative that has already seen over three million trees planted. The Woodland Trust aims to plant millions more to help achieve its goal of carbon net zero by 2050. In November, we received a very special delivery of 150 saplings of working woodland trees, including field maple, willow, silver birch, and English oak - species that can be used in the future for forest school activities such as carving, weaving, and climbing. Alongside this, we also received a hedgerow pack to encourage a diverse range of wildlife. We are thrilled to share that yesterday, our first working party ventured into the woods, spades in hand, to begin planting. This exciting project will continue throughout the week, with all the children taking part - because from every little acorn, a mighty oak will grow! ~ Jubilee Day Nursery 🌳

What an amazing first day back with our Jubilee Jets yesterday! ✨ Here’s a glimpse of the fun we had: ~ A trip to our farm filled with exciting games – from team-building challenges to individual, competitive, and athletic activities. ~ Creative crafts: face painting, button bowl making, nail painting, and heart-shaped decorative hangers. ~ Imaginative play with farm building, LEGO, and board games. ~ Outdoor adventures with free play, exploring, and group imagination games. ~ Our famous Jets Got Talent show, and a dance party!
