📚 Yesterday it was International Children's Book Day! We celebrate the magic of stories and the joy of reading with children. Reading together not only sparks imagination, but also builds language skills, improves focus and concentration. Being read to helps children make sense of the world around them and understand how words, phrases and sentences come together. 🌻 Today is World Down Syndrome Day and, just like every year, we’ve been busy planting sunflowers across the nursery to honour the occasion. It’s a beautiful tradition that not only raises awareness but also celebrates the uniqueness and individuality of every child. 🌼 Just like sunflowers, every child grows and blooms in their own special way ✨ Our children also came in wearing odd socks to take part in ‘Rock Your Socks’ - a colourful way to celebrate the uniqueness of every chromosome. 🧦 Why March 21st? This date was chosen to represent the triplication (trisomy) of the 21st chromosome — the cause of Down syndrome. One of the absolute highlights of every Jets school holiday is our legendary Jets Got Talent. Children have the chance to decide if they’d like to perform, choose their talent, and rehearse - either solo or in a group. Singing and dancing are always crowd favourites, but we love seeing stand-up comedy, role-play performances, gymnastics, and even musical instrument showcases.
