In our new outdoor climbing play space we have introduced a set of monkey bars… and believe it or not, they are brilliant for supporting children's handwriting! ✏️ Monkey bars require strong grip, coordination and control. When a child holds on and hangs, they strengthen the small muscles in their fingers and hands, as well as their shoulders and core. All of these muscles play a key role when learning to hold a pencil with confidence. Swinging from bar to bar also involves a great deal of hand-eye coordination, which is another essential element of handwriting development. These skills start developing so early in play and it’s fascinating to see how something as fun and simple as monkey bars can have such an impact on cursive writing in Year 3 and beyond! 💛 Play really does have purpose. ~ Jubilee Day Nursery

Jubilee Gems had such a lovely morning visiting The Little Play Lounge! 🌿 The children enjoyed exploring the beautiful play space, getting creative with the role-play café, building together, and enjoying all the little details that make the lounge so special.
